Get to know Betsy the Gremlin
Hello, I’m Elizabeth Weidner, but everyone calls me Betsy! I’m an aspiring screenwriter based in California. I graduated from UCLA’s professional program in screenwriting in the spring of 2017. Ever since I have been submitting to competitions and trying to break into the industry. I’ve learned some things along the way! I’m an Austin Film Fest Second-Rounder and a nominée for the Nate Wilson ‘Joie de Vivre’ 2017 Award.
I’m mainly using this blog as a way to write more about the art of scriptwriting and the film industry. It’s a fascinating world with so much nuance and life. Also, I’m throwing in a little bit of lifestyle stuff, as a plus-size content creator living in the golden state. Currently, I offer script-reading services with an emphasis on punching up dialogue (I’m just really good at that, it’s weird).
